Project: Building Brighter Futures
Organisation: Pathways to Education
Mission
The mission of Pathways to Education is to break the cycle of poverty through education by providing youth in low-income communities with the resources and support network they need to graduate from high school and build the foundation for a successful future.
Project
The Pathways program supports approximately 9,000 students annually in 31 locations across Canada, with the goal of improving high school performance in disadvantaged and marginalized communities. They support with comprehensive academic, social, individual, and financial support. This contributes to school engagement, diploma attainment, and confidently planning their future.
Impact
Building Brighter Futures helps young people pursue education, develop skills, improve their well-being, and access better opportunities for their future and careers. The Pathways Program increases the chance of success after high school, with close to three quarters of all Pathways graduates going on to post-secondary education and training, and many others obtaining meaningful employment. To date, over 25,000 students across Canada have received support from Pathways to Education.
